In 5th grade, Robert Sheldon came to Chris's
elementary school to tell the students about
joining school band.  Following this, Chris
contemplated pickin up the trombone which he
ended up playing until 7th grade.  But in 6th
grade, his mom, Sherry, bought him his first
drum set.  He played around on it every now
and then but wasn't too serious about it.  In 8th
grade, he switched from trombone to percussion
and picked up on it quickly.  Then in high school, he played the bass drum and snare drum, but
moved to the quads (4 drums on a marching harness) his sophomore year.  At the end of his senior
year, Chris received a phone call during hockey practice.  It was his friend, Brad Fergeson who was
also a drummer.  He told him of a band that was seeking a drummer.  Brad loaned him his drums for
the audition, and Chris showed up at Jon's house after practice in his hockey uniform.  The band was
very impressed with his playing, and he immediately became a part of 2MASS Denial.  The band had
a show exactly two weeks after Chris joined.  He proved his worthiness by picking up on all the songs
quickly and effectively.  By the day of the show, Chris could play their entire set list which consisted
of about 15 songs.  At this point, the band knew they had found their permanent drummer.
